Reese is now 3 months old and I can barely believe it! I don't remember Gracie's first three months going by this fast but I also didn't have another toddler to chase after. Reese is doing some pretty amazing new things. She is determined to sit up on her own. She is usually a pretty laid back baby unless she is determined to sit up. She grunts and yelps until we sit her up. Then her little head wobbles in concentration as she smiles so proudly when she is able to lift her head all the way.
Speaking of her smile, it just lights up the entire room! She has really began to start smiling and laughing ALL the time. She has the sweetest little personality. She has also been sleeping through the night!!! Can I get an AMEN! One morning I woke up after sleeping 7 full hours and to my surprise she was still sleeping. I believe it had been about 8-9 hours since her last feeding. But she is not hurting in the weight department. Just today she a repeat hearing exam (she passed again with flying colors!!) and she is now 12 lbs 7.5 oz. She is up 5 lbs since birth! They have a different chart to measure percentiles with children with DS but on the typical chart she is up there with the other kids at 50% percentile. I don't think this girl is going to be on the petite side.
We have lots of dr's appointments in the next month. The end of Jan we go back for a follow up in the NICU. I know they are going to be impressed with her progress. Then we go to see the Ophthalmologist and the Genetisist in Feb.
She is my little ray of sunshine and I thank God for my little miracle child everyday! I couldn't imagine my life with out her.
